Mr. Scott Miller

Originally from North Pole Alaska, Mr. Scott Miller has been playing the tuba since the age of nine.  While in high school, Mr. Miller performed with virtually every brass ensemble at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  In 2006 Mr. Miller enrolled at the Peabody Conservatory of Music on a merit scholarship where he studied with Toby Hanks and Baltimore Symphony’s David Fedderly, eventually earning both his Bachelors and Masters in Music Performance.  While at Peabody, Mr. Miller performed extensively with the Peabody Symphony, the Peabody Wind Ensemble, and several brass choirs.  In addition to these, Mr. Miller performed with brass quintets every year while he was at Peabody and received the Grace Clagett Ranney Prize in chambermusic on completion of his Master’s degree.  Mr. Miller is currently performing in the Baltimore and DC area with a variety of groups including Patriot Brass, the Occasional Symphony, Potomac Brass, The Hotel Paradise Orchestra, and many others.  In addition, Mr. Miller has been a private music instructor of low brass for the past six years, teaching students good technique and musicianship.
