Ms. Esti Prabowo

For Ms. Esti Prabowo, music has played an essential part in her life, especially since she decided that she would continue playing piano for the rest of her life. She began her piano training under her mother and father at the age of four and is currently enrolled in Towson University majoring in Piano Performance pursuing Bachelor of Music. She came to Towson University from Indonesia in order to study under a world-renowned pianist, Reynaldo Reyes. He has inspired her in many ways, not only in her playing, but he was also a great mentor for life lessons. Since starting her piano study at an early age, Ms. Prabowo has never stopped playing the piano and understands the need to have discipline and focus in order to master the piano.

While attending Towson University, Ms. Prabowo is studying under an International scholarship and currently finishing her degree under the head of TU’s Piano Department, Dr. Eva Mengelkoch. Many musical experiences have opened Ms. Prabowo’s heart to be a better musician; she has performed with others such as in Early Music Ensembles, Chamber Ensembles, and collaboration with orchestral instruments and voice. Ms. Prabowo has taught piano for years and is currently involved in mentoring music for children in Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s Orchkids program. She also understands the needs of pupils with disabilities.

Prior to her piano training at Towson, Ms. Prabowo studied under a loving and inspiring teacher and pianist, Aisha Sudiarso in Yayasan Pendidikan Musik, Indonesia. Some of her honors and awards include the Promising Performance Award, Golden Award for Solfeggio, Award for Excellent Technique and Award for Outstanding Performance.
